A Sublime Reboot

After two free-whelped easy litters, Veruca required a csection for this 3rd and final litter. 1st pup was just a smidge too big for her pelvis. Unfortunately, due to post-op complications, Veruca could not properly care for this litter like her others. This litter's journey has required some extra teamwork instead. Thankfully, female dogs tend to sync cycles in pack settings such as ours. Moms that give birth around the same time are usually willing to lend a boob or adopt as needed.

Newt stepped in to help care for the babies, and she has embraced them wholeheartedly. She has her hands full with a total of 8, but having come from a litter of 8 herself, she has proven herself up to the task. I have been assisting with supplemental tube feedings since day one, and that continues now for just the smallest pup, as she is a bit slow to gain weight. But she’ll get there! The pups are now almost two weeks old.

I am relinquishing control over the naming of this litter, which is difficult for me 😅 Husband says the new Sublime album dropped the day these guys were born and it’s a big deal. It’s a reboot of sorts, so that’s what were going with.

Ensenada - Black & Cream Dapple Male - 7.6 oz (Birth Weights)

Figueroa - Chocolate & Cream Female - 8.1oz

Toramina - Black & Cream Female - 8oz

Trey - Chocolate & Cream Male - 7.9oz

These pups will be released to the waiting list in July, in combination with Newt’s Big Wiener Energy Litter, as the pups are just 4 days apart in age.
