The Doxie Suite
An Extension Of My Home
In 2021, my pack got a brand-new space designed just for them—the Doxie Suite! We spent the entire summer creating a room that meets their every need while keeping them comfortable and happy.
The suite features a grooming station, three built-in 5x5 ft pens with cozy raised beds, and ample storage for food, toys, and supplies. It’s temperature-controlled to keep them comfortable year-round and equipped with cameras so I can check on them whenever I’m away.
Their outdoor space also got a major upgrade. The expanded play yard has new fence for the main area, plus two separate runs to manage boys and girls when needed. They enjoy a double-decker dog house, a tunnel, big logs for sunbathing, a faux fire hydrant, and butterfly-friendly landscaping—perfect for chasing their favorite fluttering friends.
Even with their own special space, my dachshunds are an inseparable part of our daily life. They follow me from room to room, curl up on the couch, and live as cherished family members. The Doxie Suite isn’t just a room—it’s a reflection of the love and care they deserve.
A Safe & Nurturing Start for Every Pup
Lovebug Doxie moms are lucky enough to have a dedicated nursery! In this space, moms have privacy from the other adult dogs, helping them relax and focus on their babies’ well-being. It’s a calm and secure environment where they feel safe, yet it still allows the puppies to experience everyday household life. They are naturally exposed to the sounds, sights, and activity of a busy family home, including children. This early socialization helps them develop into well-adjusted companions, ready to thrive in their future homes.
As the pups grow, their space grows with them! Our whelping pens are modular and expand as needed to make room for play equipment, intro to crates (open style), and litter trays.
We’ve recently renovated the nursery and will be adding new photos after the final touches are complete!
