The Mountain Man

In recent months we have suffered some unfortunate loss. Our sweet Maude experienced extreme pregnancy complications that resulted in her passing. At that point Vada was already pregnant, as well as some other breeding plans already in motion. While this is not the first loss of my career, it did ofcourse fill me with worry. That was intensified when I realized Vada was having a small litter. A small litter of just one or two can sometimes allow pups to grow rather large in all that extra space, which in turn can cause the need for a c-section. Luckily Vada was a champ and delivered her two big pups without much trouble. Unfortunately, one pup was stillborn with a cleft palatte. Despite that disappointment, I am very relieved.

That leaves us with loner Jeremiah Johnson, who weighs in at 1lb 1oz at just 5 days old. He is BIG! And oh so beautiful. A Chocolate Based Cream Long Hair. Champion sired by Filbert over at Sunflower Dachshunds. Jeremiah is sure to be the MOST handsome boy and we are going to dote on him.

I had hoped to keep a puppy or two from this special litter, however, I do not have a spot to take on another stud at this time. So that will mean Jeremiah finds a pet home from our waiting list in the next week or so.
